Appointments

How to get an appointment
Phone reception to book; appointments last 15 minutes and are offered subject to availability. For urgent problems ring as early as possible in the morning, as some slots are kept free each day. Each family member needs a separate appointment. Patients more than 10 minutes late may be asked to rebook.
New patients
Phone reception to apply. Applications are assessed by the doctors; accepted patients complete a registration form and a consent to transfer records, and medical card or GP visit card holders also complete a change of doctor form.
Medical card and GP visit card
Medical card (GMS) patients pay nothing for standard doctor and nurse visits; the fees page lists a separate GMS price for every item, and some services such as smears, cryotherapy and contraceptive device fitting carry a charge for GMS patients too.
Out of hours
North East Doctors on Call (NEDOC), 1800 777 911, from 6pm to 8am on weekdays and all day on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Call 112 or 999 for life threatening emergencies.
